"In summer 2019, BLOOMHERE opened the first brick and mortar home for women survivors of abuse, prostitution and addiction. Surrounded with love and in the safety of those four walls, our residents are healing, learning growing and walking the path to a fresh start and a new life. During their two year tenure with us, they are provided all medical, dental and psychological care in addition to secure housing and recovery support. Under this roof, BLOOMHERE provides services and classes from resume writing, interview skills and household budgeting to nutrition counseling, mindfulness and yoga. BLOOMHERE seeks to empower women who’ve been challenged by difficult paths, painful events and life choices to recognize there is always a chance to bloom again, and with the right support, we can all make leaps to a better life. Our long-term vision for BLOOMHERE is to have multiple BLOOMHERE centers in cities across the country to serve women in need. Our mission it to provide necessary life skills and self-care tools to those who’ve not been offered them before and to encourage each woman to share her gifts, her knowledge and her experience to lift and empower others. We only rise when we rise together."

At the end of the fundraising season, a professional ballroom competition is held and mirror balls are distributed.Tom Lane-Brady is raising funds in honor and memory of two extraordinary women: Rosetta Gaudio and Helen Santilli. Throughout his childhood and adult years these strong women were like second mothers, especially as he reflects back on the love, guidance, and support they gave. The Opportunity Project of South Carolina was formed because there is a clear need to build capacity in communities throughout South Carolina that address long-standing gaps across three quality-of-life areas: healthcare, education, and technology. In our view, these are the areas that sustain us, enlighten us, and connect us to the world. The Opportunity Project seeks to close those gaps through its own programming and capacity-building grants to organizations in South Carolina that are creating opportunities that seek to close these gaps between South Carolinians and the rest of the world.
